Our mission is to become a "hub" for making disciples. We do that by worshipping together, studying the Word together, praying together and fellowshipping together. We also try to be as intentional as possible with inviting others to join us in all of those activities. Some of our discipleship areas include Weekly Bible Study, Corporate Prayer, Bible Based Sermons, and Corporate Worship.
Greetings and salutations to all of our members, guests, friends, shut ins, and visitors.
I want to repeat the “thanks” I expressed in our bulletin announcements. Every year I am humbled by all the gifts, cards, phone calls, texts, food, and just general outpouring of love in regards to the celebration of my birthday. It is an amazing feeling being a part of such a wonderful family!!! So THANKS to each and every one of you!!!
I was honored this past Sunday (April 27th) to receive an award on behalf of our church and Lattimer UMC. We were 2 of 79 total congregations who paid 100% of their apportionments. There are 109 churches on our district (4 of which are closing on June 30, bringing us down to 105). We don’t realize how truly blessed we are to be such an active congregation. We do a lot with a little; a great indicator of being good stewards of the gifts that are entrusted to us.
One announcement I was super excited about was the fact that this year Charge Conference is going to be held at EACH CHURCH individually (the way they used to be done). Not all charge conferences will be conducted by the District Superintendent but I celebrate this as a big win.
I got to say goodbye to a few colleagues on Sunday too...as they start the next chapter of their lives...retirement. Its difficult for me to imagine what it would be like to be retired. It is a humble feeling as I contemplate that in July I will attain 20 years of service in my second career. I had 20 years of service before retiring and going into ministry...and now I have 20 years in ministry!!!
Be sure to let people know that our entire building is climate controlled, and you will be cool and comfortable in the warmer temps and now we have an option available for those who need it for the worship service to be watched live in our fellowship hall. Don’t let the warmer temps or the stairs deter you from attending.
God bless, Pastor Todd Glasmire
